DAVID ROTUNDO BAND

JULIAN HAD THE JOINT JUMPIN’

JULIAN FAUTH www.julianfauth.com and his fine band blew into The Cove Inn, Westport for Blues On The Rideau a week ago last Friday and took the place by storm. Although the majority of the audience had never seen him before judging by the applause, double encore and high CD sales by the end of the night he had made a room full of new fans. He proved why he has to be included among the top young blues talents in the country. Julian pounded, coaxed and tickled the piano all night matching it with Jay Danley’s superb counterpoint guitar, Wayne Charles on harmonica and vocals, Sam Petite on bass and Bob Vespaziani on drums (who hit everything in sight including a few beats on the large urn beside him!).  The mix of classic barrelhouse and swing tunes mixed with his unique original songs – especially those from his great new CD “Ramblin’ Son” – had the crowd up and dancing all night long – as usual for The Cove audience! The buffet, featuring the Cove’s famous roast beef, was delicious as always.

$525 was raised for the Rideau District Museum bringing the total raised for local charities this season to over $6,500.

The only disappointment was the slightly less than full house due to some late cancellations. This just proves that if there’s an artist you want to see at BOTR @ The Cove, even if the night is Sold Out in advance, it’s definitely worth getting on the Waiting List. You may get in after all.

“ Food and service exceptional. You can feel the energy in the room building right up to show time. Long live Blues On The Rideau!”
Marian & John Bell, Dunrobin

“Great meal. Tremendous band! On a scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 10+. Thanks for bringing blues to the Rideau”.
Trish Miller, Seeleys Bay

“10 out of 10 for venue, food, service and sound – 14 for the band!”
Janet & John Finlayson, Portland
